This page explains what My Scizzle collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to tick a box.
What we collect
- Nothing, if you just read. You can read every article on this site without giving us anything.
- What you send us. If you contact us through the site, we receive whatever you put in the message — typically a name, an email address and the text itself. We use it to reply and for nothing else.
- Comments. If commenting is open on an article and you leave one, WordPress stores the comment, the name and email you supplied, and your IP address, so the comment can be shown and spam can be filtered.
- Server logs. Like every website, our host records requests — IP address, browser, the page requested, the time. These are standard web server logs kept for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
WordPress sets a cookie if you leave a comment, so the form remembers your details next time. If you log in to the site, WordPress sets session cookies. We do not use cookies to build an advertising profile of you.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information. We do not trade it, rent it, or pass it to data brokers. We do not send marketing email to people who contacted us with a question — a reply is a reply, not a mailing list signup.
How long we keep things
Messages are kept as long as they are useful for the conversation and then deleted. Comments stay with the article they belong to. Server logs rotate on the host’s normal schedule.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact page and say what you want done. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific data rights — the GDPR in Europe, the CCPA in California — those rights apply and we will honour them.
Other sites
Articles here sometimes link out. Once you follow a link, you are on somebody else’s site under somebody else’s policy, and we have no control over what they collect.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version replaces this one on this page. There is no separate archive.
